Thursday night, Texas high school football takes centerstage when Lake Travis takes on the Arlington Martin live from Choctaw Stadium in Arlington, streaming live at 8 p.m. ET on ESPNU. Lake Travis, which won five straight UIL titles from 2007-11, fell in last year's 6A semifinals. The Cavaliers return Michigan State commit quarterback Bo Edmundson looking for a seventh state title in the past 15 years. Martin went 9-3 last season and is led by cornerback Javien Toviano and running back Sergio Snider, according MaxPreps. The two teams are very familiar with each other as they play on a regular basis and this should be a great high school football game.
How to Watch High School Football, Lake Travis (TX) vs. Arlington Martin (TX) Today:
The Cavaliers did go 9-3 last season, but one of those wins was a big 40-28 victory over the Warriors to begin the season. They jumped out to a 24-14 halftime lead and despite the Warriors closing it to 34-28 at the end of the third, they came away with the victory.
Arlington Martin lost the opener and started the year just 2-2. It would bounce back, though, and win seven straight before losing to Lewisville 35-18 in the second round of the playoffs. This year, the Warriors will look to get off to a better start on their way to an improved season.
